Questions that separate a refinisher from a
painter.
Where are the doors finished - shop or driveway? What primer and topcoat? Wood, MDF, and laminate are not the same prep. Who removes and reinstalls hardware? What happens if a door is damaged in transit? Can I see a kitchen you finished in the last year within 20 miles?
We spray doors, paint frames on site, match Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, or RAL, and reinstall hardware. The gallery is real Bay Area jobs: before/after gallery.
What the paperwork
should say.
Scope: doors, frames, interiors, sheen, color. Timeline in days. Price that does not change unless you change the scope. Warranty length and what it covers. Cleanup. If those lines are missing, you are buying a handshake.

Red flags.
A price from a texted photo treated as final. A demand for most of the money before anyone arrives. No local photos. No answer on who is actually spraying. A promise that every kitchen is done in 3-5 days. Pressure to 'lock today's discount.' Refusal to say when replacement would be smarter.
Independent shops can be excellent. Franchises can be fine. What you want is a named process and a warranty you can call on - not a logo.
How to sanity-check Golden Touch-Up the
same way.
